For the best man, the maid of honor, the father or mother of the bride, the groom, the bride, and anyone writing their own vows.

This is what it writes.
Real output, not a mockup. The struck line is what a chatbot opens with. Below it is what this wrote from the same person's answers, with the marks that tell you how to say it.
A best man speech for Jordan and Priya
For those who don't know me, I'm the best man, and what a journey it's been.
Eleven years ago I was on stage at an open mic doing three minutes about my landlord, and a stranger at the back shouted, "MATE, THE LANDLORD SOUNDS NICER THAN YOU." Biggest laugh of the night. Wasn't even close.
I came off stage, found him, and bought him a pint, because that was genuinely the best line anyone said all evening. That stranger is Jordan. I'm his best man, we lived together for three years, and he's been ruining my punchlines ever since.
Real output, not a mockup. The whole 3.9-minute speech and the answers it came from are published here.
13 phrases this will never write.
Banned by name in the instructions, every single time, along with anything close to them. Here is the whole list.
- without further ado
- for those who don't know me
- Webster's dictionary defines
- match made in heaven
- tie the knot
- better half
- ball and chain
- journeyas a metaphor for the relationship
- soulmateunless quoting the speaker
- they complete each other
- I've never seen [name] so happy
- raise your glassesas an opener
- a definition or a quote from the internetas an opener
The list is public because a rule you obey is not a secret. The method behind it is published too. If a line could appear in any wedding speech ever given, it is cut before it reaches you.
Why not just use ChatGPT?
You can get a wedding speech out of any chatbot in ten seconds. It will write from the one paragraph you thought to type, and the best thing about your friend was never in that paragraph.
| What differs | A general chatbot | Other speech tools | Wedding Speech AI |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where the words come from | The one paragraph you thought to type | A form, then a template | An interview that asks what you left out |
| When it asks a second question | Never, unless you think to ask yourself | Never | After any answer that was too vague to use |
| Clichés | Writes them, they are the likeliest words | Usually baked into the template | 13 banned by name, list published |
| Built to be spoken | It writes an essay | Plain text | Pause marks, laugh beats, teleprompter |
| Proof before you start | None | Testimonials | A full speech published with its inputs |
Every row is checkable on this site rather than a claim about ourselves. Here is the method in full.
What you actually get.
- your words
Built from your stories, not near them
It asks about your actual history together, then writes from your names, your details, your inside jokes. There is no template to swap names into.
- pause
Pause marks, so you perform it
Where to stop. Where the laugh lands and how long to wait for it. When to look up at the couple. Marked into the page you hold.
- tone
Two alternate tones, in case you misjudge the room
Too much roast for the grandparents, or not enough for the groomsmen? You get your tone plus two alternates, so you can change your mind at 11pm without starting again.
One question at a time.
Not a form with seven boxes on it. It asks, you answer, and when the answer leaves out the part that makes the story land, it asks you one more thing about that answer in your own words.

Say who you are speaking as
Best man, maid of honor, groom, bride, parent. A father-of-the-bride speech and a best man roast are not the same job, so they do not get the same rules.
Answer questions about them
One at a time, never a wall of boxes. When an answer leaves the good part out, it asks you one follow-up about that answer, in your own words.

You will know within ten seconds.
A speech either has the room or it does not, and the first laugh tells you which. That laugh comes from a specific true thing about the people getting married, told in the right order, by somebody who knows where to pause.
That is the whole job, and it is the entire thing this was built to do. Read a full one before you type a word.

Fair questions.
Will it sound like AI wrote it?
Read the sample speech and judge before you type anything. It is published in full, unedited, next to the answers it came from. Short version: it writes only from the stories and names you give it, and the usual tells are banned by name.
Why shouldn't I just use ChatGPT?
Because a chatbot writes from the one paragraph you thought to type, and it has no way to know that “really loyal” means he sat in a hospital corridor until four in the morning. It fills the gap with the average of every wedding speech ever written. This asks you a second question instead, and the second question is where the speech comes from.
How is this different from the other wedding speech tools?
Most of them are a form and a template. The difference here is the interview: questions come one at a time, and when an answer is too vague to use, it asks you about that answer in your own words. That, plus pause marks so you can perform it, and a published list of phrases it will never write.
I am not funny. Can this still work for a best man speech?
You do not have to be funny. You have to have had one funny thing happen, which is a much lower bar. Describe what actually happened; turning it into a laugh line is the part being done for you. Or drag the tone toward heartfelt and skip the jokes.
The wedding is in 3 days. Is that too late?
No, it is close to ideal. The interview takes about ten minutes, the draft is ready in under a minute, and you will have two days left to practise out loud, which matters more than the writing.
